The Herbery

The Herbery is located just across the street from the entrance of Lavender Fields at Tantivy Farm and offers a large variety of fresh herb plants – often on an honor system basis. The quality of the plants and hybrids is evident and all-organic. The gardens follow the natural contours of the land and the beds brim with perennials: salvia, scented geraniums, poppies, peonies, daisies, columbine and climbing roses as well as heirloom irises and daylilies that owner Stephanie’s grandmother brought when she emigrated from the Netherlands in the 1920s. Mixed among the blossoms are berries and a variety of herbs including sage, chives, marjoram, parsley, rosemary, thyme, basil, garlic, lemongrass and lemon verbena. The owners, Stephanie and Pete Loquet, are a wonderful husband and wife team and very hospitable. Bring some back to OBS and incorporate into your favorite meal. (7-minute drive from OBS)
