Seasons Yield has been an excellent addition – as a local Bread Farm (yes, a Bread Farm!) to the area. Seasons Yield is a family owned-and-operated business with its origins based on a passion being pursued when the co-owners Daniel and Fawn Shear we’re raising their family and dealing with Daniel’s Army deployments to Afghanistan (learn more on their website). Their core product is wild-leavened sourdough bread. Seasons Yield hosts farm days where you can purchase their products at their Farm store and they rotate vendors and experiences (e.g. Pizzas, BBQ, Soups, Burgers, etc.) per Farm Day.
They also have a nice coffee shop on premises and their Farmstead is a great experience in and of itself. In addition, Seasons Yield has a downtown Lexington location (Seasons Yield at Haywoods) where they sell coffees, teas, breads, and pastries. We’re partial to good bread as we lived in Germany and traveled Europe extensively and very much admired the local breads in Dusseldorf, Paris, Luxembourg, Brussels, throughout the Alps, etc. In brief, we found it challenging to find a good bread in the general area in local grocery stores & shops and were happy when Seasons Yield came on the scene. (tip: in addition to their Sourdough, try the Olive-infused bread). For More Information click here https://seasonsyieldfarm.com/ (11-minute drive from OBS)
