Lime Kiln Theatre

Lime Kiln Theater is a very special music venue just outside downtown Lexington, Virginia. As the name implies, the theater is located in a former lime quarry and has a very unique vibe much like a mini-Woodstock. The main stage (the bowl) has a seating capacity of 675 and Lime Kiln has been putting on shows for over 25 years, with a brief economic pause during the 2012-2013 season. We have been to a number of shows and always appreciate the quality of artists combined with the incredible atmosphere in the venue. (tip: tail-gating is an option – show up early and bring your favorite snacks and drinks and meet new friends and listen to some music in advance of the formal shows – you’ll even sometimes find the artists practicing pre-show) (tip: purchase tickets in advance as some shows are sold out prior – in other words, book your stay at OBS and perhaps pre-purchase tickets in advance) (tip: local Breweries, Vineyards, and Food trucks are always on hand to ensure a good overall experience) (final tip: as the venue is intimate you can often meet the artists and purchase merchandise during intermission or at the end of the show).
