Horses and Hides

Two famous historical horses can be visited nearby. The first is Little Sorell (Stonewall Jacksons horse) which can be found ‘stuffed’ in the VMI museum, as part of a larger history museum display – it catches your attention as soon as you start the self-guided tour. The second is General Lee’s Horse Traveller. Traveller is buried just yards from Lee’s burial site at the Chapel & Chapel Galleries, at the campus of Washington and Lee, formerly Lee Chapel.
